IMPORTANT
POINTS TO REMEMBER
1.
Always consult a suitably qualified and appropriately appointed VEHICLE
CERTIFIER before a project is commenced as space around components and
assemblies are a vital consideration in system
design.
2.
All
designs and components are required to conform to recognised local
and international standards. This is important to remember when
embarking on a special project or even a simple
modification.
3.
Always
ask a suitably qualified engineer, designer or certifier to explain
aspects of the design that you are not sure of or are indeed
interested in. It is important for the certifier to be able to
explain all considerations in the design.
4.
A “Heavy Vehicle Specialist Certifier” is a
person appointed in
New Zealand to approve modifications to
Heavy Vehicles or new vehicle builds. Heavy Vehicle is a vehicle
with a GVM of more than 3500kg.
5.
A
“Low Volume Vehicle Certifier” is a person appointed in
New Zealand
in order to approve
modifications to Light Vehicles or new builds. Light Vehicle is a
vehicle with a GVM of 3500 kg or less.
